Good Luck Phil Kessel

The Bruins today did what everyone expected to happen the past few months and Traded Phil Kessel. I can't wait to see who we draft with the picks we got in the trade. It is going to be fun to watch them develop and then be traded or leave via free agency in a few years. People keep saying that Kessel is not a great 2 way player which may be true, but he can put the puck in the net and is only about to turn 22. I see no reason why he will not improve in all aspects of his game in the future. Furthermore, I know that the Bruins could not fit him under the cap, but we should have been prepared for that and saved money elsewhere. For example, bynot giving a 35 year old goalie a guaranteed 4 year 20 million dollar contract that will continue to be on the salary cap books even if he retires or is bought out. I'd rather have not signed Thomas to an extension, resigned Kessel and tried our luck with Tuuka Rask in net.
