Patriots End The Season Like The Red Sox

In both cases the teams gave themselves a self inflicted mercy killing in round 1 because the team knew it did not have the personal to really have a shot at it all so they copped out and did not show up in the first round. You can't even really analyze  a game much when you give up an 80 yard run for a touch down followed by a strip sack right out of the gate. Hell, the Ravens did not even play that great the rest of the way and petty much ran it up the middle 85 percent of the time and still managed to get first down after first down. That is the sign of a defeated team. The Patriots need to do a lot in the off season to get back to where they where and it starts with Bill Belichick. He has to realize that he needs help. He needs a real offensive coordinated. This entire season especially today the Patriots offense was innovationless and at times it look like the defense knew what was coming. We also need a general manager or if you want to call him a personal director in order to keep Belichick in the higher title or whatever. The Pats with a couple of exceptions have drafted horribly the past few years and their off season signings have been down right disasters. It is actually a testament to the core strength of the organization that they managed to win the division with this crappy group of talent or lack their of. The only good take away from this loss is that if Wes Welker comes back healthy next year he will have a legit partner in slot receiver crime in Edelman.
