First off Congratulations to the Giants. They were a flawed team with a cut and paste line up that kept coming up with big hits when they needed them. Case in point World Series MVP Edgar Renteria who hit the game winning home run off of Cliff Lee. Second, with 2 Cy Youngs under his belt and now a World Series clinching gem, Tim Lincecum just cemented his place in baseball history. Furthermore, Lincecum might not have been as dominant this regular season as the past 2, but by beating Lee twice in the World Series he now has a strong claim to the being called the best pitcher in baseball. Buster Posey also came up big this World Series; he was billed as a right handed Joe Mauer, but Posey already has a ring. I would not call the Giants the favorites to win it next year, but with Lincecum as an ace, Cain as a great number 2, Bumgarner as an up and coming star, and Sanchez as a solid lefty gives them enough young arms to be contenders for years to come. Texas should be as well considering they have a low payroll, are in a pretty big market, new ownership, and relatively new stadium. They should have money to spend.
