Thoughts On Lil Kim vs Nicki Minaj Beef
First off, aside from being female, I don't see why people compare the two of them; Nicki style and flow remind me of more of a female Busta especially when she raps fast with all the crazy faces and voices. Hell she seems to acknowledge that herself on that Romans Revenge song Romans Revenge song where she calls Kim a has been; in that song she takes Busta whole "rah rah like a Dungeon Dragon" line from Busta verse on A Tribe Called Quest's Scenario. The beef seems to have started when Kim and Foxy started taking shots at Nicki over a year ago when Nicki was first starting to blow up. The beef really blew up after Roman's Revenge and Lil Kim's response track Black Friday .
This is one beef, when I am not going to choose sides because I like them both. For example, Nicki verse on Kanye's song Monster is one of the verses of the year and I love her topical line at the end of verse on DJ khaled's All I Do Win " you can talk slick all the way down to welfare, ask the IRS Bitch I am paying for your health care" I love Kim, but between jail and her other issues she has not done much in a while. I hope her beef with Nicki gets her focused again the way Nas beef with Jay got him back focused. That being said Kim's verse on Mobb Deep's Quiet Storm Remix is one of the all time greats by anyone mail or female and destroys anything Nicki's done. All that being said, Lauryn Hill recently praised Nicki Minaj Nicki http://www.sohh.com/2010/11/lauryn_hill_respects_nicki_minajs_barbie.html and I like Lauryn better than both of them; so if this can inspire Lauryn to start rapping again even better.
