Above is a link to a summary of recent Duke Study that found that North Carolina's "Smart Start" and "More At Four" early education initiatives paid for themselves via less costs for special education by the third grade and were predicted to have a high return on investment as the children grew older. In addition, the study showed students did better on Third Grade educational outcomes. Numerous other studies have correlated third grade education levels with positive life outcomes. Using a little transitive property (dropping 6th grade math terms on ya'll asses) if the early childhood program=positive third grade outcomes and good third grade outcomes=more positive life outcomes then well done early childhood program= more positive life outcomes.
