3 Sox Thoughts From Today's Game
- Lackey has ten wins which is more than Beckett; this is a classic case of wins being a deceptive stat because Beckett has been the Sox best pitcher this year and Lackey the worst. That being said, all we need from Lackey is what he gave us today; 6 innings and 3 runs. I will take that from him every time.
- Johnny Damon's best overall year was 2004. Jacoby is on pace or in some case has already passed Damon's 04 numbers in pretty much every important category. If Jacoby continues his hot streak he has a chance to cross 100 RBI, 40 stolen bases, .320 batting average, around 30 home runs, around 120 runs. With all due respect to Adrian, if Jacoby keeps this up, he is the team MVP and a serious contender for league MVP.
- The Sox might be single handedly be ruining C.C. Sabathia's Cy Young chance. The Sox have given him 4 of his 6 loses and pushed his E.R.A. significantly higher.
