China is Trying To Buy The Dodgers?!

This is a fascinating report on a number of levels; technically, the lead guy in the group Burke is an American, but appears most of the money for this deal would come from a Chinese State owned investors. Thus, in some ways it would literally be China buying the Dodgers. First off, McCourt is in such messed up financial situation that both he and Major League Baseball would have to take this offer seriously. However, the idea of China buying a team in "America's Past Time" would no doubt start some sort of political fire storm. One might argue that Chinese Investment in a baseball team would be less of a business decision and more of a political one on their part. Then there is the whole communist angle. Baseball if famously capitalistic in its pay structure especially in compared to the National Football League with its revenue sharing and salary cap.   If the deal happened, would the Dodgers become the de facto team of China and have their games shown their? would Bud Selig jump at this chance to possible expand Baseball's brand into China much like the NBA has done pretty well the last decade. Would we start to see more Chinese baseball players in MLB?
