Celtics Thoughts/Predictions: Our Greatest Weakness is our Greatest Strength
The Boston Celtics weakness is our greatest strength; That sounds like some cliche movie line, but in the case of the Celtics I think it is true. In this odd season with no real pre-season 66 games stuffed into a short period of time the age of the Celtics key guys like Allen, Pierce, Garnett, and to a lesser extent O'Neil will be a big weakness on nights when we have to play back to back and they will have tired legs and possibly more prone to injury. On the other hand, the core 4 of Rondo, Pierce, Allen, and Garnett know how to play together. With no pre-season and little time to practice between games this will be a huge asset for the C's as they play against more discombobulated teams. Overall, I think the Celtics start off strong, then start coasting after about 30 games and make it into the playoffs as a 3 or 4th seed. I think they will be a tough out in the playoffs but most likely lose to the Bulls or Heat who have younger legs. If I had to predict the entire league, I will go with Bulls over Heat in the East and Thunder over Clippers in the West with The Thunder winning it all. Now for a few other NBA thoughts:
- Best of luck to Jeff Green in his upcoming heart surgery.
- Jajuan Johnson. Right that name down. The Celtics' drafted him late in the first round, but I think he will be an impact rookie playing big minutes spelling Kevin Garnett who has taken him on as a mentor. My prediction is that he will be one of the top 3 best rookies in the NBA this year.
