I Like The Andrew Bailey Deal

All things considering, after losing Papelbon, Andry Bailey is the best we could do for a closer; I did not want to get an older veteran like Ryan Madson to a big contract; Bailey has good stuff and it is 27. However, he does seem to have many nagging injuries which is a concern; as it moving to the A.L. East. I never considered Reddick that great of a prospect so I am not worried about losing him; overall, I rather keep Ryan Kalish in the organization. Furthermore, this makes it seem like Bard is definitely going to be a starter now which should be interesting. I am kind of leery making Bard a started because it seems he has a bull pen arm. I am not sure if he can bring 97mph for six or seven straight innings and his secondary pitches need to be refined in order for him to be a legit started. That being said, if we put him in at number 5 in the rotation that should ease some of the pressure on him and anything is better than Lackey. I wonder now with Bailey and Mark Melancon in the bullpen if that means Aceves in now in the rotation which would mean our rotation of Lester, Beckett, Buchholz, Aceves, and Bard would be pretty much all set as would be our closer (Bailey) and set up guy (Melanson).
